| Meme from [many others] |
[24 Apr 2006|10:34pm] |
Step 1: Put your MP3 player or whatever on random. Step 2: Post the first line(s) from the first 10 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing the song. Step 3: Let everyone you know guess what song and artist the lines come from. Step 4: Bold out the songs when someone guesses correctly. Step 5: Looking them up on Google or any other search engine is CHEATING!
1: Time in hands, with the pilots and the travelling bands 2: At this time of night, when the crowds have passed (got by Elfeh) 3: Why do I keep finding myself so surprised? 4: Na na naaa naa naaa, It's a girl thing, It's a girl thing 5: My skin is white as parchment 6: Time to sing thet songs again: the songs of love, and hope that something will change 7: Dusk is dawn is day, where did it go? 8: It seems, seems there's nothing, that you couldn't do with a drink inside of you 9: I am thinking it's a sign 10: Stupid, pushy, and needy.
(Quite easy as I didn't edit or re-choose when the title featured or near-enough-featured in the first line)
And by the way, you all need to acquire "Trains To Brazil" by The Guillemots. It isn't one of the above songs but its gorgeous and makes me feel all happy inside.

Fab trip. More later. Today sucks: Ill (vomitting at waterloo, mildly dehydrated, issing out of my arse), Broken PC (turns itself off when windows boots), Dumped (amicably, but I don't really understand). Consequently not in brilliant mood.
Longer update on the fabness that was Turkey-Georgia-Azerbaijan-Turkmenistan when I have a pc that can handle the photos.

The Arcade Fire - The Arcade Fire Demo EP/01 - Old Flame |

A week tomorrow, I set off (with evacuee) to Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Turkmenistan. Wooyay. Today I have been buying things which may be of use for the trip. As direct sun and zaty do not combine well, I bought a sunhat and sunglasses. They make me look *really* scary:

This week, I have been mostly whining about my dental problems, which will cost me about £400-600 to resolve tomorrow. I have (amongst other things) inflamed, infected roots of my bottom right #6 molar. The X-ray photograph looks vaguely cool.

Cunting exams of shitty death. I've been up at 0510 the last two days and will be again tomorrow. If they timetable exams in the morning, when am I supposed to have time to learn the course. It's clearly cheating to revise before the exam date itself. Anyway, courtesy of this morning's bundle of joy I at least never have to see, hear, or think, about dynamic electrochemistry EVER AGAIN. WOO WOO. (at least until the resit :-/). Also, I feel icky for having subsisted on nowt but coffee and kippers today.
Fab weekend last weekend, a rather lovely young gentleman took me to see the opera of 1984. It was fantastic. The set/staging was *perfect* and the torturey machine was really rather scary! Looking forward to re-Londonning myself (probably tomorrow) to see, er, certain people ;o)
A week on saturday (i.e. May 28) , I do the depressing getting older thing. It's a very uninteresting birthday. I prefer to think of it as being two eleventh birthdays than one twenty-second. That at least gives me an excuse to have a tantrum if I don't get what I want*. I'm being dragged to the Frozen North that is Halifax for a wedding on my birthday too, but shall be returning to the city of woo and yay in time to do Retro for an hour or so before staggering onwards and downwards to Shinky Shonky. You must all come, elsewise I shall cry.

Meme from bump.. "what does your date of birth say about you?" or some such.
Interestingly, it speculates on what someone born on the 31st February would be like:
Your Birthdate: February 31 |
Your birthday suggests that you are a good organizer and manager, an energetic and dependable worker; attributes often showing success in the business world.
Serious and sincere, you have the patience and determination necessary to accomplish a great deal.
Your approach can be original, but often rigid and stubborn.
Sensitivity may be present, but feeling are likely to be repressed.
You are good with detail and insist on accuracy, but at times scatter energies.
You're a practical thinker, but not without imagination.
You love travel and don't like to live alone.
You should probably marry early, for responsibility is necessary for your stability. |

At least three of the questions increased my score because I actually know something about my degree course beyond a basic level, hence the score is plainly unrepresentative as an equally nerdy psychologist or biologist or pretty much any subject other than physical sciences, mathematics, and engineering, would have scored lower.
Cunts.
They can burn in hell.
I know I'm not a nerd- I can't stand role playing games and don't watch any bad sci-fo series.

English Genius You scored 100% Beginner, 98% Intermediate, 100% Advanced, and 100% Expert! |
You did so extremely well, even I can't find a word to describe your excellence! You have the uncommon intelligence necessary to understand things that most people don't. You have an extensive vocabulary, and you're not afraid to use it properly! Way to go!
Thank you so much for taking my test. I hope you enjoyed it!
